My daughter wants to get her ears pierced. Will she be allowed to play? For your daughters safety, please do not get her ears pierced during the season. A kicked soccer ball has enough force to push the earring through her ear and damage her ear. Taping the earring is NOT an example of playing safely with earrings in. Like all jewelry, please remove the earrings before a game or practice. 9. This is the 1st time my child is playing soccer. Will they sit on the bench or will they play? It is Derry Soccer's intention to play all the team members evenly during the game. It is the parents responsibility to get the child to practices so they can learn and then play their allotted time. 10. What age does soccer start at? For the Spring season the child should be 4 years old by August 1st or the prior year. For the Fall season the child should be 4 years old by August 1st of the present year. 11. What is the oldest age for playing soccer? For the Spring Season it is U-18. You should be Under 18 years old on August 1st of the prior year. If you were 17 on August 1st of last year you can still play if you are 18 years old for the Spring Season. 12. When are practices and games? Most practices are on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. The games are played on Saturdays and there will be some on Tuesday or Thursday evenings.
